My baby already seven month now, than giving her just breast-feed is not enough. We must give her another liquid feed like formula and also solid feed like rusk biscuit, fruit and another soft food.
SO, right now I would like to write about formula feeding, compiled from several resources from other website :)
To make formula milk we must make some preparations;
Bottle sterilization. We can sterilize the bottle by submerging the bottle under boiled water for 5 minutes. Avoid microwaving, since it poses the risk of uneven heating and subsequent scalding. Boil the water also, and let it for a while until the water warm, and than pour the formula powder. Follow the recommended instruction, do not add to much formula powder above the recommended instruction. Close the bottle and mix it well to make sure the formula is evenly distributed. Spray a little on your hand to make sure it is not too warm. Start to feed your baby, always hold your baby when you feed him, touch him with gently massage while feeding him. Never prop a bottle while feeding your baby. This will not only impair his attachment and overall development, he may choke on the milk as it pours down his throat. Do not jiggle our baby after deeding, or he may vomit. Toss the left offers, because it may develop bacteria. Remember your baby digestion tract not develop beneficial micro flora yet. Use the same formula unless your baby is having trouble. Burp your baby halfway through a feeding instead of waiting until the end. Try to burp our baby without causing her to vomit. Here some different position when we burping our baby; - Stand up position; Hold your baby upright, facing you, with her head at your shoulder. Pat her gently on her back.
- Sit up position; place your baby in a sitting position, lean her forward, and pat her gently on the back.
- Lay down position; place your baby facedown on your lap, and pat her gently on the back.
- If we are not successful at first, try burping her a few minutes later. It may take a couple of tries.
- If our baby does not burp but seems comfortable, let it go. She may not need to burp.
